厦门市最年轻的区，新区成立伊始，全区90％以上的区域为农村区，各项基础设施条件薄弱，工业化、城市化水平较低。近年来，特别是随着省委加快推进海峡西岸经济区建设和市委新一轮跨越式发展战略部署的实施，翔安迎来了最好的历史发展机遇期，区委、区政府积极实施项目带动战略，全面推进基础设施建设，翔安大道、翔安南路、水琼线、区府大道等一批交通主干线建成投入使用，硬质化道路基本实现村村通，行政村公交覆盖率近90％，新区对内对外交通日趋快捷便利，交通事业面貌发生了巨大变化。新区成立以来，翔安公交有限公司在服务新区发展、方便百姓出行、解决富余劳动力转移等方面，做了大量卓有成效的工作，为新区经济社会发展作出了积极的贡献。
随着新区开发建设的快速推进，对内对外交流交往日趋频繁，人流客流不断集聚，百姓对公共交通日益迫切。区委、区政府历来重视公交服务百姓出行和公交服务工业区的问题，特别是重点工业企业的员工出行。特别是，在市交通主管部门（加：火炬管委会支持下）和区委、区政府的`力促下，友达至会展中心公交路线的实现开通和部分出租车的顺利投放，必将进一步完善工业区交通配套，为园区企业员工和老百姓出行提供便利，助推新区工业化、城市化进程，必将为火炬社区发展和新区经济、社会全面进步发挥极为重要的作用。
我们衷心希望，翔安公交公司以此次公交线路开通和部分出租车的投放为契机，进一步加强安全，提升服务质量，争创“文明公交”，为百姓群众提供“便利、优质、安全”的运输服务，努力实现全面服务零距离，周到服务无障碍。
